Correlatos psicosociales del manejo de botellas de plástico en una muestra de ciudadanos de Lima Metropolitana, Perú

El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la relación entre el manejo de botellas de plástico (uso, reutilización y desecho) y variables como los valores, la conciencia y preocupación ambiental, la autoeficacia y la intención de conducta proambiental en ciudadanos de Lima Metropolitana. Para ello, se contó con la participación de 141 personas entre los 18 y 65 años y se les preguntó por diversas variables psicosociales como valores, preocupación medioambiental, conciencia sobre impactos de la contaminación, autoeficacia proambiental y, finalmente, también sus hábitos de consumo de botellas de plástico. Los resultados muestran que existe un alto nivel de contacto cotidiano con botellas de plástico y que las prácticas de reutilización y reciclaje no están integradas en el quehacer cotidiano de las personas. Además, el estudio discute cómo los valores de autopromoción y benevolencia se vinculan con patrones de consumo de plástico, mientras que el universalismo podría reflejar una mayor intención de reutilización. También, la autoeficacia se asocia con un menor consumo, aunque persiste la percepción de que las acciones individuales tienen un impacto limitado.
