Sabiduría de la comunidad malaya para la conservación de las cuencas de captura de los embalses de las centrales eléctricas

Una cuenca hidrográfica es un área que recibe, almacena y canaliza agua hacia los lugares circundantes. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo determinar el potencial cultural y la sabiduría local de la comunidad malaya en la cuenca del embalse hidroeléctrico de Koto Panjang (KPHR) en la regencia de Kampar, Indonesia. Esta investigación se llevó a cabo de diciembre de 2023 a marzo de 2024. Los datos se recopilaron mediante entrevistas y observación. Los informantes fueron empleados del KPHR, organizaciones gubernamentales regionales, líderes comunitarios, líderes tradicionales, agricultores, trabajadores y otros elementos de la sociedad. Las preguntas abarcaron la sabiduría local de la comunidad y las políticas para la protección de la cuenca, así como aspectos ecológicos, socioeconómicos y culturales. Algunos aspectos de los patrones de subsistencia y la mentalidad de las personas que viven en la cuenca del KPHR se consideran en sinergia con la existencia de esta cuenca. Esto incluye patrones agrícolas a pequeña escala, estilos de vida sencillos, procesamiento de tierras sin quema, cultivo de plantas perennes, pescadores de río y lago, la perspectiva cultural islámica y malaya, y la existencia de grupos de concientización turística. Es necesario potenciar el conocimiento local mediante la agricultura integrada, aumentando la eficiencia en el uso de los recursos e introduciendo tecnología respetuosa con el medio ambiente.
