Abstract

The text is a mental journey to the festival of Lord of Qoyllurit’i and a presentation of the four papers on this event presented at the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) 2009 meeting that Anthropologica publishes in this section. It highlights the richness of contributions as they provide information, ideas, and new interpretations, and shows the strength and intensity of the experience that they evoke.

    Profesora de Antropología en la universidad George Washington (Washington, d.C.). En el año 2001 obtuvo la beca Guggenheim por su trabajo en temas de cultura y arte en los Andes. Es autora de La coca sabe (2008) y colaboradora con Paul Steele del Handbook of Inca Mythology (2004) y coautora con Nathan Garner del drama etnográfico Condor Qatay (1996). Su próximo libro, Foxboy: Intimacy and Aesthetics in Andean Narrative, se encuentra en prensa con la editorial de la universidad de Texas y será publicado en 2011.
