Discusses the conceptual weaknesses of the book Lima and its arenas by D. Martuccelli through a critique of his notions of miscegenation, fusion, hyper-actor individual and regulatory project.

Author Biography

  • Gisela Cánepa, Pontifical Catholic University of Peru

    Main professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, Faculty of Social Sciences, in the area of ​​Anthropology and founder of the Master's program in Visual Anthropology at the Graduate School.

    Her research areas include: formation of ethnic and regional identities; cultural representation and public sphere policies; expressive forms of culture (ritual, dance, folklore, popular culture); performance theory, visual anthropology, and neoliberal culture and governmentality. Among her publications are the published volumes: “Looking at public sphere from culture” (2006); "Visual Imagination and Culture in Peru" (2011), Photography in Latin America. Images and Identities Across Time and Space (2016). She is currently editing the volume "Looking for an INC. New utopias and subjectivities of contemporary Peru ”.
