International Bribery: Policies, barriers and proposals

Abstract

The internationalization of the economy acts as a conditioner for international corruption. The first point analyzed is international bribery as a corrupt behavior carried out by companies, its negatives consequences on Human Rights and the problems of having an effective criminal policy against it. In this context, the US regulations, the OECD agreement and the problems and proposals for their application by States and companies are also analyzed.

  • Ignacio Berdugo Gómez de la Torre, University of Salamanca

    Licenciado en Derecho con Premio Extraordinario por la Universidad de Valladolid en 1973. Doctor por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid en 1976. Catedrático de Derecho Penal de la Universidad de Salamanca desde 1986, y Rector Magnífico de la misma de 1994 a 2003. Fue miembro de la Comisión Redactora del Proyecto de Código penal español de 1992. Profesor Invitado en diversas universidades latinoamericanas. Es autor de varias monografías y de decenas de artículos sobre diversas materias relacionadas con el Derecho Penal.
