Abstract

The integration of the stock exchanges of Colombia, Peru, and Chile is an initiative aimed at deepening these countries’ capital markets, advancing one step further compared to previous proposals in the region, such as MILA. This integration, which is currently in the process of structural consolidation, faces challenges at multiple levels–political, regulatory, technological and operational, market-related, and investor protection. However, based on the evidence provided by similar strategies implemented in Europe, these challenges are considered surmountable and, while they must be taken into account, they do not constitute an obstacle to its development and eventual success.
