Abstract

This paper analyses the reception of Pedro Calderón de la Barca’s works in contemporary Peruvian culture, gathering examples from literature (poetry and novel), other textual genres (an essay and a political speech), and a film. 
Calderón’s influence is based on three plays (La vida es sueño, Amar después de la muerte, and La aurora en Copacabana) and it is evident as an ethical reflection as well as an aesthetic element.
