PhD. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Florida, she is currently a Senior Professor in the Department of Social Sciences in the Specialty of Anthropology and coordinates the Research Group on Subjectivities, Bodies and Performances. She has conducted research in rural and native communities and on gender identities in urban populations.

PhD. in Social Sciences with mention in Development, Population and Environment from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium; Degree and Master's degree in Sociology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. Researcher specialized in gender, higher education, culture and development issues; as well as, consultant specialized in evaluation of projects of rural development and gender. Currently, she serves as Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and as Director of the Unesco Chair of Gender Equality in Higher Education Institutions of the same house of studies.
