Abstract

The work maintains that the novel Por qué hacen tanto ruido (1992) by Carmen Ollé questions the concepts of literary field and Author as patriarchal spaces in which women writers are excluded. The analysis takes assumptions from Pierre Bourdieu, Judith Butler and Julia Kristeva, to focus on the role of Sarah, the protagonist, who suffers this type of exclusion. Both the character and the novel rehearse a writing of the abject, by accepting, in a conflictive way, the space of the non-literary, of the non-hegemonic, as their own.
