Interview with Teresa Ralli, actress of the Yuyachkani Group
Abstract
Teresa Ralli, actress and one of the founders of the Yuyachkani Cultural Group, receives Espinela at the house-theater to talk about the beginnings and motivations of the group at the end of the sixties, and how it is still valid today 52 years after its foundation. Likewise, she reflects on the relevance of emblematic works such as Adiós, Ayacucho, No me toquen ese vals and Antígona, which allowed us to approach the topic of memory through theater and construct our own discourse. She also shares her impressions about Yuyachkani's relationship with literature, the aesthetics of movement, the absent body and how the group was nourished by dialogue with the communities of the places where they took their works. She also explains about theater as an agent of change. Finally, she comments on the Teatro y memoria cycle, which Yuyachkani presented in 2023, on the occasion of the twenty years since the delivery of the Informe Final of the CVR.
