About the Journal

Focus and scope

Pensamiento Constitucional is the academic journal of the Master in Constitutional Law of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, an institution that exclusively finances it. Its purpose is to publish unpublished and original articles of academic research on Constitutional Law, an area that includes the study of Fundamental Rights, Constitutional Procedural Law, History of Constitutional Law, the organization of power, the interrelation between Constitutional Law and the International Human Rights Law, among other classic topics on the subject. Certainly, Pensamiento Constitucional has a strong emphasis on the development of Constitutional Law in the Latin American region, but this does not exclude studies outside this region, or of a more abstract nature, since we understand that this kind of views enrich our regional understanding of the matter.

The target audience for  Pensamiento Constitucional is mainly researchers in Constitutional Law and related branches, as well as any legal operator interested in the matter.

Periodicity

Pensamiento Constitucional is an annual publication. It appears on the first day of the publication period, that is, the first of January.

Academic Inbreeding

In order to have an impartial article selection procedure, Pensamiento Constitucional declares that it has a policy against academic inbreeding. In this sense, its editions may only contain a maximum of 30% of manuscripts whose author or co-author is someone whose main institutional affiliation is the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
