Abstract

This essay offers an ecocritical, ecofeminist, and decolonial reading of Parque Industrial (1933) by Patrícia Galvão. Drawing on the framework of critical ecofeminism developed by Alicia Puleo and Eva Antón Fernández, as well as the ecocritical principles proposed by Cheryll Glotfelty, Harold Fromm, and Edwin Camasca, the study examines how the novel articulates the continuity between labor exploitation, environmental degradation, and colonial hierarchies in industrial Brazil. The novel transforms the female body and natural matter into territories where the violence of progress is inscribed, revealing how capitalist modernity redefines domination over the living.
