Rules for authors
Editorial Procedure
Authors must submit their original manuscripts via email in PDF format. For articles with multiple authors, a corresponding author must be designated to handle communications. All articles received by PRO MATHEMATICA are subject to peer review. If a contribution is accepted, authors will be asked to submit an electronic copy of the manuscript in TeX format, preferably LaTeX. The manuscript will then be edited according to the journal's style, and authors will be asked to carefully review the galley proofs. Once the article has been published, the corresponding author will receive a copy of the journal and an electronic copy of the work.
Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts must be written in either Spanish or English and must include a full title and a running head (short title), an abstract, a list of keywords, and the most recent Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC) codes (currently MSC 2010). Authors are requested to provide their abstract in both Spanish and English. Bibliographic references should include only works cited in the text and must be listed in alphabetical order following the criteria used in AMS publications (www.ams.org/journals). Any graphics included in the article must be submitted in EPS, JPG, or PDF format. Figures and tables should be identified using Arabic numerals or letters in parentheses. Captions must be brief and clear.
Each author must provide their institutional affiliation(s) or workplace, as applicable, along with their mailing address and email address.
Commitment to Integrity
The submission of a manuscript implies a commitment by the author(s) that: (1) it has not been previously published; (2) it has not been submitted to another journal; (3) its publication has been approved by all co-authors; and (4) the author(s) have the authorization to use all copyrighted material contained therein.
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to verify that their submission meets all the requirements listed below. Submissions that do not comply with these guidelines will be returned to the authors.
- The manuscript has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted to another journal (or an explanation has been provided in the "Comments for the Editor" section).
- The submitted file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect format.
- Web addresses (URLs) have been added to the references wherever possible.
- The text is single-spaced; the font size is 12 points; italics are used instead of underlining (except for URLs); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are embedded within the text in their appropriate locations rather than at the end of the document.
- The text complies with the bibliographic and style requirements specified in the Author Guidelines.
