This article’s main objective is to reconstruct the life of a bilingual Indian —Juan de Albarado, native of Chachapoyas—, based on data of a man that excelled in the exercise of the sword and the pen achieving the highest Renaissance ideal, that is, as an Indian soldier in favor of the crown and as officialinterpreter of the Audience of Lima.
