Abstract

Based on a review of the archives of the Hispanic Society of America (HSA) in New York, we identified a 1919 autograph letter by José de la Riva-Agüero y Osma, previously published in the historian’s Complete Works only in draft form, and we connected it with other letters published in his collected correspondence (two of which were published with incorrect recipient and date, errors corrected here). We also include an unpublished biographical file of Riva-Agüero prepared by the HSA and, finally, the response issued by the Testamentary Committee in 1946. In addition, we recall other Peruvians who were members of the HSA, including the institution’s most recent Peruvian honoree in 2015.
