Focus and Scope

Areté is the biannual Journal of Philosophy edited by the Humanities Department of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). We receive submissions of articles dealing with the different branches of philosophy, but we also welcome texts from other scientific fields or disciplines (arts, humanities and sciences) addressing philosophical issues. Areté publishes original and unpublished research articles in Spanish by authors with a significant impact on contemporary philosophical debates in every area of philosophical reflection. Additionally the journal features a permanent section of book reviews. Occasionally it also publishes documents (conferences and translations) concerning important philosophical debates, as well as interviews with world-renowned philosophers. By request of the scientific community, Areté also publishes special monographic issues which do not interrupt the journal’s regularity.

Indexing

Areté is included in several national and international indexes, such as Latindex, Philosophy Documentation Center, Philosopher’s Index, Répertoire Bibliographique de la Philosophie, SciELO Perú, and Scopus.

Regularity

Areté is a biannual journal that adheres to the principle of continuous publication. Its final volumes are published in July and December in a digital version. A printed version is available on-demand.
