Aims and Scope

ECONOMÍA is an international open-access, peer-reviewed journal covering theoretical and empirical research in all branches of economics published on behalf of the Department of Economics of the Pontificia Universidad Católica of Peru (PUCP). It welcomes high-quality contributions from all parts of the international research community with emphasis on Latin America. ECONOMÍA is a leading economics journal with a prestigious author community, indexed within Web of Science, EconLit, RePEc, Latindex 2.0, and other databases. From time to time the journal publishes special issues on key or emerging contemporary topics in Latin America.

Some characteristics of ECONOMÍA are:

Periodicity

ECONOMÍA publishes articles as they are accepted by the Editorial Board and then compiled in two issues by year.

The names and email addresses in this journal will be used exclusively for the purposes established by the journal and won't be available for any other purposes or individual.

Revenue

The journal does not operate for profit and charges no fees to authors or readers. Its publication is fully supported by institutional resources, ensuring that all content is freely accessible and that editorial decisions are made solely on academic and ethical grounds, without commercial influence.

Marketing

ECONOMÍA does not engage in any inappropriate or commercial marketing activities. The journal is promoted exclusively through the official LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook pages of the Department of Economics of PUCP, where new issues and calls for papers are disseminated to inform the academic community.

Reception of articles in Spanish

ECONOMÍA is pleased to announce a new initiative to welcome and review articles submitted in Spanish. This project aims to open our platform to authors writing in the Spanish language from all regions. Papers that successfully pass the peer review process and are accepted will be translated into English by the journal at no cost to the author and published in English.
