Rules for authors
- Objective and policy of IUS ET VERITAS
The IUS ET VERITAS Journal publishes original legal research articles. In this sense, we do not accept submissions of reviews or bibliographical notes and other documents that do not correspond to the structure of a research article -such as, for example, comments on interviews, conferences and papers, theses, dissertations, etc.-. Likewise, IUS ET VERITAS does not publish academic research papers that have had any previous purpose and/or have been part of any previous academic competition.
The Journal is open to national and foreign collaboration.
- Ethics in publishing
If any breach of publication ethics is detected during the review process or after the publication of the article, the IUS ET VERITAS Journal acts in accordance with international standards of publication ethics, and will evaluate the legal actions that may be warranted to punish the perpetrator of the fraud.
The IUS ET VERITAS Journal is committed to comply with international standards of scientific publication, therefore, it has as a reference the principles of transparency and good practices of scientific publications proposed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
- Form and preparation of articles
3.1. General rules
All articles submitted to the IUS ET VERITAS Journal must be written in Spanish, Portuguese, English or French.
The Editions of each Journal will have the following sections:
- Main Section
- General Section
In total, IUS ET VERITAS will publish between 13 and 20 articles per Issue
3.2. Required documentation for article submission
-Authors who wish to submit an article for publication in the IUS ET VERITAS Journal should send their work to the Journal Editorial Team's e-mail address: publicaciones@iusetveritas.com.
- Authorization Letter signed by the author: This is a document that certifies the originality of the article, and authorizes its publication and distribution, among others. This letter must be signed by all authors and sent together with the article. With this document, the author agrees not to submit the article to another journal, book or any other media or platform of diffusion, until receiving the editorial decision of IUS ET VERITAS.
- Characteristics of the applicant articles
4.1. First page
The first page should include, in this order, the following:
- Title: must be a statement in the original language and English. The title in the main language is in Arial 16 and bold. Its translation is in Arial 14 and in italics.
- Author's name: the name is in Arial 11 and bold. Immediately below is the institutional affiliation, along with the city and country of the same. Additional information about the author, such as profession, academic degree, ORCID code and e-mail, is included in a footnote. If the author is a member of IUS ET VERITAS, it will be included before the e-mail.
- Summary and Abstract: a brief text in the original language of the article and English, where the central ideas of the research are mentioned. This section can have a maximum of 200 words.
- Keywords: the article should include, in the original language and English, between 6 to 8 central words of the research.
4.2. Body of the article
Articles must have an Introduction, Development, Conclusions and Bibliographical References section.
Notwithstanding the above, the articles must follow the following aspects:
- The content of the article (excluding bibliography) must have a minimum of 6,000 words and a maximum of 15,000 words. The font style is Arial 11, with single spacing and 3 cm margins. Exceptions to this rule must be justified and previously authorized by the Editorial Team.
- The article submitted must use the APA 7th edition style.
- If footnotes are used, they should be written in Arial 10, single-spaced.
- The article should be written in Word.
- Figures such as graphs or tables may be used, as long as they are in black, white or gray tones.
4.3. Rules on bibliographical references
- Bibliographic references are only those that have been cited in the article. The citation format is APA 7th Edition.
- Bibliographical references are ordered alphabetically, taking into account the surnames of the cited authors, without subdivisions. When several works by the same author are included, they are organized by year of publication from the earliest to the most recent. If an author has several works in the same year, letters are included to differentiate them.
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check that their submission meets all of the elements shown below. Submissions that do not meet these guidelines will be returned to authors.
- The petition has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted to another journal.
- The file submitted is in Microsoft Word format.
- Web addresses have been added for references where possible, and the text complies with the bibliographic and stylistic requirements indicated in the Guidelines for Authors.
- The Letter of Authorization has been attached (see point 3.2).
Papers that were sent to the Editorial Team of the IUS ET VERITAS Journal (publicaciones@iusetveritas.com), will have their reception confirmed within a period of no more than 1 week. The Editor-in-Chief will inform its reception to the e-mail from which the article was sent.
