Abstract

In the absence of clarity in the definition of their functions, employees reduce the generation of new structural resources, which in turn will be associated with a reduction of hope for professional success. Organizations must analyze that resources are effective in reducing the negative influence of this demand. This project proposes to delve into the effect of the supportive climate in reducing the negative influence of role ambiguity on the increase in structural resources and hope. The sample was 339 employees of services staff in a public university. The results found show a total modulation effect of the support climate that changes the influence of role ambiguity on the ability to develop new structural resources and their hope to be positive. We can conclude that the development of support policies for employees of public administrations will transform the ambiguity in the definition of their functions into a challenge for them.
