Based upon a sociolinguistic hypothesis made by Alberto Escobar, according to whom there are seven dialectal forms of Spanish in Peru, the author explores one representative group for each one of these forms. Comparisons are made between psycholinguistic performances such as language perception and production, verbal memory and association, and, fmally, redundancy reading, It is found that the dialectal forms correspond to a difference in psychological processes that is reflected in a waste when information is treated that comes from a source cxpressed in the norm of cultured groups in Lima. Besides communicational and psychological aspects, sorne social and educational issues are discussed.Downloads
