Abstract

The conventional teaching method and pers~malize~ instructional method are campared m relatlon to the leve! of leaming and to the amount of students who succeed at the end of the course. One hundred and twenty Psychology students parhapated. The instruction took place during the alternate Academia semester, in the same course and with the same content. It consisted in the application of a conventional teaching method (Group control) and teacher in charge of it; through behavorial objectives and personalized instructional system (experimental group); a teacher in charge of it and dass helpers also; through cnacelatory instructional units. 91.6% of students of tbe group control passed and 88.3% of the experiment group too. The percentage of students that got an excellent mastering of the units was 16.6% in the control group, and 88.3% m the expenmental group, which indicates better qualitative results in the course taught by the personalized instructional system (PSI) in companson with the conventional teaching system (CTS).
