Digital Preservation Policy

The PUCP Journal Portal database uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) for its operation. One of the features provided by this service is the automatic creation of backup copies ("backups") of data stored on other AWS servers located in distant geographical regions. Thanks to this functionality, the PUCP Library System guarantees the permanent availability of both the contents and the updated backup copies in real time.

The PUCP Journal Portal database also adheres to the recommendations proposed by the PKP Preservation Network, in order to ensure permanent availability and access to content. For this reason, the LOCKSS module has been enabled, which allows the creation of a backup file that will be used in the event of any technical or administrative eventuality that affects the Portal.
