Ethics guidelines

Kaylla is committed to achieving high publication standards that ensure the quality and originality of the manuscripts included in each of its editions. To this end, the editors and the journal team ensure a process in which the protection of copyright of unpublished publications is considered. Kaylla follows the publication ethics guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE); any decision regarding misconduct by the various actors in the journal will be made based on the COPE guidelines.

The publication of manuscripts that are under simultaneous evaluation by other publishers or academic publications is not permitted. In addition, the journal uses a plagiarism check software and has a double-blind peer review system. Those who wish to publish in the journal must comply with the Author Guidelines and the article submission conditions detailed at the time of submitting a manuscript to Kaylla. The different actors involved in the publication process have defined responsibilities:

For editors:

  • They are responsible for ensuring high quality standards of publication.
  • They must maintain the confidentiality necessary for double-blind peer review, as well as take care of the information provided by the authors in the process.
  • Evaluate manuscripts objectively.
  • They provide the preliminary filter for the evaluation of manuscripts, therefore, they must detect errors they may have.

For authors:

  • They must submit original articles of great academic relevance.
  • They must submit manuscripts that respect the author guidelines, as well as proper citation. Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
  • They must notify the editors if there is any error in the article. In addition, they must indicate whether the research they are presenting has received any funding.
  • They are responsible for the integrity of the content of their manuscripts.

For reviewers:

  • They must maintain confidentiality about the information sent to them as part of the double-blind peer review process.
  • They must notify the editors if there is any fault or error in the manuscripts they evaluate.
  • They must express their opinion in a respectful manner, without emitting judgments based on country of origin, religion, race, political beliefs, or other information inferred from the manuscript's content.

Any breach of these rules should be reported to our email: kaylla@pucp.edu.pe. Each case will be evaluated impartially on an individual basis and ensuring that due process is respected.
