Aims and Scope

Debates en Sociología aims to stimulate conversations and reflections on the problematics and challenges faced by Latin American societies. Engrained in sociology and sister disciplines, such as anthropology and human geography, Debates en Sociología opens spaces for academic exchange regarding the different conceptualizations on the social and its relationship with state, politics, environment, and development in rural and urban spheres.

Debates en Sociología mainly publishes research articles (empirical, theoretical, or applied), as well as essays and bibliographical reviews on the subject of sociology and related disciplines. The journal is targeted to university professors, researchers and academics from social sciences and humanities. It is open to international collaboration, accepting papers both in English and Spanish.

Each issue from Debates en Sociología follows a certain subject and is edited either by the journal directors or editors in chief, or by guest editors. We accept proposals for edited issues spanning theoretical, methodological, or applied problematics from a monodisciplinary or multidisciplinary point of view.
