About the Journal

Focus and scope

Derecho PUCP is a journal of academic research of the Law Faculty of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, committed on the general debate on ideas. It publishes articles of legal or interdisciplinary research, in Spanish or English, that are appointed as unpublished and original, which are evaluated by external peers, by the double blind system. The journal is funded by the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.

The public to which Derecho PUCP is addressed is mainly: (i) researchers in Law and in similar sciences, (ii) professionals in Law, and (iii) university community.

Frequency

Derecho PUCP is a semi-annual journal, appearing on the first day of the publication period. The first issue of the journal covers the period from June to November, and the second, from December to May. Both issues appear in digital format.

Publication waiting list

The article which publication had been accepted after the peer review process, must be published in the issue of the journal immediately after the approval moment.

However, if its had already completed the quantity of articles to be published in the next issue of the journal, or if could exceed the imposed limits by the prohibition of academic endogamy, the article will enter in a waiting list and must be published in any of the subsequent two issues of the journal.

If that should not be posible, the author must have the right to take away the article and present it to another journal or academic publication.

Academic Endogamy

Conforms to international standards, Derecho PUCP try to avoid the academic endogamy in the articles that it publishes. Consequently, will only publish up to 30% of articles that have as author or coauthor to someone whose main instututional affiliation is the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, considering the total number of articles to publish in all the journal sections.

The publishing priority of the articles will be established en function of the date in which they were accepted.

If the article that has to enter in the waiting list corresponds to the section «Main Section», the author will be informed that in the following issues of the journal will pass to the section of «Miscellaneous» or «Interdisciplinary», according to its area.
