Derecho PUCP N° 96 - Rethinking Violence: Security, Justice and Rights in the Contemporary City

At present, citizen security and the various manifestations of violence represent urgent challenges for contemporary societies. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate traditional security policies, explore their impact on communities and reflect on their implications for the respect of human rights from a critical analysis.

The journal Derecho PUCP invites researchers and academics interested in contributing from criminology, sociology, law and other related fields, to explore the tensions and challenges inherent in the construction of safer and more just societies. This special issue seeks to bring together reflections that question normative approaches and propose new perspectives to understand and address violence in urban and rural contexts, paving the way for more inclusive policies that respect fundamental rights.
