Focus and Scope

Conexión provides a meeting and dissemination space for communication from applied, theoretical, or empirical perspectives on journalism, advertising, communication for development, audiovisual communication, social communication, political communication, communication policies, new media, activism, subjectivities, among others. The scope of the journal aims to receive contributions that are about or related to narratives and research from and about the Global South, specifically the Ibero-American space.

The fields, topics, and disciplines of interest for Conexión are broad and varied, and this diversity of perspectives ensures the interdisciplinary nature of our inquiries, links the heterogeneity of our study objects, and connects our findings in a transversal manner.

Initially, Conexión was created to provide a space for the dissemination of research works carried out by the faculty of the Academic Department of Communications. However, in recent years, it has evolved into a scientific journal that offers the international community a platform that reflects the relevance and updated scientific dialogue regarding its areas of interest.
