Generative AI tools guidelines

Economía allows artificial intelligence-assisted tools as supportive aids in research and scientific writing, provided their use follows ethical principles that safeguard originality, rigor, and academic transparency. Authorship remains exclusively human; all AI tools used must be explicitly disclosed (including tool names and how they were applied), and AI-generated or manipulated images are not permitted.

For this reason, the following guidelines are established to encourage the responsible use of these tools by authors:

1. Authorship and responsibility. The intellectual responsibility for the work lies exclusively and entirely with the human person in charge of the research.
Therefore, the AI tools used cannot be assigned any level of authorship.

2. Disclosure of AI use. Any use of AI tools during the preparation of the article must be explicitly declared and mentioned. The name of each AI tool must be indicated, as well as the process in which it was used. An example is provided below:

This article was written entirely by the author, with the assistance of AI tools. Jenni AI was used to broaden the search for bibliographic sources. Grammarly was also used for text editing. After using the aforementioned tools, the author has reviewed and verified the validity of the data presented and assumes full responsibility for the published content.

The above statement must be included as a separate section at the end of the manuscript.

3. Images. The use of images generated and/or manipulated by any type of AI tools is not permitted.
