Writer Guidelines
Author Guidelines
I. Nature of the texts
1. Only original and unpublished works that contribute to knowledge in the field of education will be accepted. This means that they must not have been published in other physical or digital media. The texts will be checked by the plagiarism detection software Turnitin, and texts with more than 25% similarity will not be accepted. In the case of a work derived from a thesis, its bibliographic reference must be indicated in APA format version 7 on an additional page about the authors (not in the manuscript). Likewise, a manuscript resulting from a thesis must have 75% originality.
2. Texts written in Spanish, English, or Portuguese that meet academic writing standards are accepted.
3. The texts can be articles, essays, or reviews.
3.1 The "Articles" section includes texts that present the results of empirical research and evaluative intervention studies, pedagogical innovation studies, or diagnostic studies that, through rigorous methodology, contribute to knowledge in education. Systematic literature reviews on educational topics are also accepted. Studies that are of particular interest to a specific institutional or local context will not be accepted if they do not have significant relevance in constructing knowledge in the field of education. They should have a length of five to seven thousand words, including title, abstracts in three languages, development, bibliographic references, and annexes (if any).
3.2 The "Essays" section includes texts that explain and argue about specific educational topics in a reflective and analytical manner. Particularly valued are those that provide critical arguments and present a position on current debates in the field of education. They should have a length of five to seven thousand words.
3.3 The "Reviews" section includes texts that comment on and analyze a publication, preferably books published in the last three years. They do not refer to a summary or description of the content of a book, but rather a critical commentary. They should have a length of two to three thousand words.
II. The structure of the texts
Although the headings of the texts may vary in their denomination, the following structure is suggested:
For articles:
- Title
- Abstract
- Introduction
- Theoretical framework
- Methods
- Results
- Discussion / Conclusions
- References
For essays:
- Title
- Abstract
- Introduction
- Body
- Conclusions
- Bibliographic references
In the case of reviews, they do not have a defined structure, allowing the author the freedom to provide critical comments on the text. The bibliographic reference of the book being reviewed should be included.
III. The submission requirements
1. Manuscripts must be submitted in Word format, Arial 11 points, with 1.5 line spacing, on A4 size pages, numbered, to the email addresses: revista.educacion@pucp.pe and bdiaz@pucp.edu.pe.
2. The manuscripts must be completely anonymous without any reference to the author(s) or any other data that may identify them.
3. The title and abstract must be included in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. It is the responsibility of the author(s) to ensure their proper translation.
4. The abstract should not exceed 130 words and should include three to five scientific terms (keywords) in Spanish and their equivalents in English and Portuguese. It is suggested to consult the UNESCO Thesaurus at https://vocabularies.unesco.org/browser/thesaurus/en/page/domain1.
5. On a separate page (author page), the following information should be provided: title of the article, name of the author(s), institutional affiliation, ORCID ID (mandatory), a brief description of the professional trajectory (maximum of 6 lines), and contact information (email address). If applicable, indicate the name of the institution and/or organization that has funded the research or the corresponding acknowledgments. Additionally, if the manuscript is based on a thesis, its bibliographic reference should be indicated in APA format version 7.
6. In the case of two or more authors, the author page mentioned in point 5 should include information about the responsibility of each author in the research process. See CRediT taxonomy.
7. The signed document of originality declaration must be attached by all authors.
In summary, to initiate the manuscript review and evaluation process, the manuscript, author page, and the declaration of originality must be attached.
