Abstract

Walled Sites in the North Coast: Preliminary Notes about Cerro Arena, Pampa de Chaparrí, Lambayeque

The Proyecto Ynalche focuses on the Chaparri pampa, located in the Leche Valley, North Coast of Peru. The pampa has an extensive irrigation system from prehispanic times. Cerro Arena, a monumental site located within the pampa, is described here. Some preliminary interpretations of the site and its relation to the irrigation system are also introduced.
