Death in Ancient Perú. An Introduction to Funerary Contexts and Concepts

This paper is an introduction to the subject of death and its relevance lo Ancient Peru's history. The author discusses the available information (from 16th to 20th cent.), and presents a methodology for analysis and interpretation followed by a synthesis of the evidence and their significance. The subject of death is of utmost importance for the understanding of Ancient Peru, but actual investigation does not work with a reliable data base and has not been able to produce an appropiate theoretical framework.
