Poetics of the Victim in the Embodied Archive of José Carlos Agüero in "Persona" and "Cuentos heridos"

Abstract

The work of Jose Carlos Agüero –poet, historian and son of hikers– complexes and broadens the comprehension of the internal armed conflict in Peru and its memoirs, creating a new notion of archive as an embodied practice. The former, can be verified through two identifiable literary operations; one from a diachronic point of view, given the transition from a personal memoir in Persona (2017) to the social memoir in Cuentos heridos (2017); secondly from a synchronic point of view, due to the use of narra-tive, poetic and archivist resources that allows the author to redefine a series of categories associated with memoirs such as victim, body and death.
