Thinking is performing a longing

Abstract

Between October 4 and 14, 2024, I inhabited La casa de la reescritura del capítulo 2, an artistic space located in the community of La Paisanita (Córdoba, Argentina) and coordinated by Asunción Casa Editora. During my stay, I dedicated time to work on a photobook project scheduled for publication this year. The following visual essay consists of a selection of images from the project (Frases mínimas 2016-2024), photographic notes taken on-site, and a text written, during those days, as an exercise. It draws inspiration from An Attempt at Exhausting a Place in Paris by Georges Perec (2012) and seeks to exhaust a creative process in order to understand it. I present fragments of a diary. I share not with the intention of transmitting a truth that must be acquired, but with the hope that, as Andrea Soto Calderón (Pinto Veas, 2024) says, by sharing what I have rehearsed, it may give rise to each person forging their own paths in what one unfolds.
