About the Journal

The Journal of Psychology of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru was founded in 1983 with the aim of promoting the exchange of research and intellectual work between psychologists and other specialists. Since then, the journal has been published twice a year without interruption, on June 30th and December 30th, and has evolved according to the scientific trends in the global community.

The Journal of Psychology aims to publish original articles related to psychology and based on empirical, theoretical, or applied research. The journal also accepts review papers; book reviews; technical notes regarding scientific, ethical, or professional themes; and information about significant events as well as the institutional development of the field of Psychology.

The Journal of Psychology aims to meet the needs of an international audience, it provides information about mental processes and behavior, taking into account the array of variables associated with multicultural contexts and diverse cultural traditions

The viewpoints stated within the articles of the Journal of Psychology are strictly the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the Editor or the Editorial Committee. Therefore, the Journal of Psychology does not assume responsibility for any offense or harm done to people or entities, neither by error or neglect, nor for the misuse of methods, materials, and interpretations written in this publication. The members of the Review Committee do not have any type of work, academic, or personal relationship with the authors.

It´s the only Peruvian scientific journal of psychology indexed in PsycINFO and SCOPUS. Recognition of the Colegio de Psicólogos del Perú in 2010 for the best scientific Peruvian journal.

The Journal of Psychology of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru was established in 1983 with the aim of fostering research and intellectual production among psychologists and scholars from related disciplines. For over 35 years, it has maintained an uninterrupted semiannual publication schedule, appearing in June and December. Moreover, each article has its separate DOI number. Furthermore, each article is assigned an independent DOI. The journal has evolved in alignment with global scientific trends and operates under a Creative Commons CC-BY license.

 

The Journal of Psychology aims to publish original articles concerning psychology based on empirical, theoretical, and/or applied research. The journal also prioritizes empirical research and meta-analysis studies. Other types of manuscripts—such as systematic reviews, bibliometric analyses, or theoretical essays—may be accepted on an exceptional basis, subject to approval by the Editorial Committee in accordance with the journal’s publication interests and priority thematic areas.

 

The Journal of Psychology is aimed at an international audience and provides insight into psychological processes, taking into account the multiplicity of variables associated with multicultural contexts and ethnolinguistic diversity. The journal publishes the title, abstract, and keywords in the following three languages: Spanish, English, and Portuguese. It also accepts full-text submissions in any of these languages.

 

The views expressed in the articles published in The Journal of Psychology are solely those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the Editorial Committee. Therefore, no responsibility is assumed for any injury or damage to persons or property resulting from accidents or negligence, or from the use of methods, materials, and interpretations described in this publication.

 

The Journal of Psychology is a Peruvian publication indexed in PsycInfo and Scopus within Q3. In 2010, it was recognized by the Peruvian College of Psychologists as the best scientific publication in the country.

 

Currently, all articles are subjected to a similarity analysis using iThenticate software in order to guarantee their originality. The journal is also indexed in Web of Science, SCOPUS, PsycINFO, Scielo, PEPSIC, Psicodoc, DOAJ, ErihPlus, Capes Qualis, Redalyc, Dialnet, and Latindex. It is also included in the following databases: EBSCOHost, CLASE, and Google Scholar. And in the following directories: BASE, Journal TOCs, Exlibris, Primo Central, WorldCat, La Referencia, and ALICIA.
